Oakton Band 🎶 and Guard 🚩 recognize students who show dedication, participation, and service through a series of awards:
Pin → Letter → Numbers (your graduation year) → Medallion 🏅✨
These awards are earned in order and celebrate students who go above and beyond 🚀 in supporting the program and the community 🤝❤️
What is a Band/Guard Award? 🏅
A Band/Guard Award is like leveling up in band. You earn points by completing three requirements:
-
Skill Focus (Requirement #1): 🎼 be an active band/guard member and participate in band/guard activities.
-
Service Hours (Requirement #2) 🌟 – completing 5 hours of community service (this can be band/guard-related or outside of band/guard)
-
Band Support (Requirement #3): 🤝 volunteer at 2 band/guard events (these can’t be the same hours you used for Requirement #2)
🔥 Hit 10 points to unlock your Award! 🏆 — It shows you went above and beyond — not just doing the minimum — and truly put in extra effort 🎶 🚩
