In the case of student absence, early pickup or late arrival, a Parent or Guardian must notify the Band Director (firstname.lastname@example.org) in advance. Color Guard parents should send the email to both the Band Director and the Color Guard Instructor (email@example.com). For marching competitions, this allows the staff to confirm the headcount for each trip and expedites our departure times.
If you need to drive your student to or from any marching competition yourself, that is, your student will not ride the bus either to or from the marching competition, you will need to file the field trip driver permission form, in advance, with Dr. VanValkenburg - this is a Fairfax County Public School policy. Download the "FCPS Field Trip Drivers License" form or you can find hardcopies in the Band hallway.
Attendance is imperative as we need every one to participate in the practices, half-time shows, competitions and the marching assessment. Please try to schedule appointments when there is no practice.
